Universal Love: The Spirits Who Never Left

Welcome back to Edition 5 of the Living Canvas.

I want to share with you a painting that has lived more lives than most people I know.

She started as a pair of paper angel wings glued to a canvas and ended up on the cover of a magazine, in the home of a healing centre, and as a seven-foot triptych. Along the way, another painting connected to her story of universal love and found its way to a stranger’s phone at three in the morning. What happened next still amazes me.

Her name is Universal Love, and she is the next Practitioner to step forward.

    How She Came Through

It was 2016 and I was laying down the first coat of paint the way I always do: with my hands. I’ve done this since the beginning. It takes me back to finger painting when I was young, and I feel I add a certain healing energy to the canvas this way.

That day, I had a strong urge to paint angel wings. I wanted them to be uniform and the Virgo in me needed it to be as close to perfect as possible, so I cut them out of paper and collaged them directly onto the canvas. In the centre, I created a large swirling portal. If you’ve followed The Practitioners for a while, you’re probably not surprised by this. Portals show up in my work the way 11:11 shows up on a clock. Once you start noticing, you can't stop.

That same night, in the same room where the painting sat on the easel, I was listening to an online discussion about the mysterious (or not so mysterious) disappearance of holistic healers around the world. Doctors, researchers, and practitioners who were trying to share natural healing methods, free energy discoveries, and information that certain interests would prefer stayed buried. One by one, they were being silenced.

I went to sleep that night thinking about those healers.

When I woke up the next morning and looked at the painting, there were faces everywhere.

Spirits had gathered around the portal. Actual faces, woven into the paint, encompassing the entire opening. They hadn’t been there the night before so while my thoughts were swirling in bed the spirits were making an entrance.

    We’re Still Here

I originally named the painting We’re Still Here because that’s what I heard them say. The holistic doctors and healers who had been “taken out” could still work from the other side, through other brave people willing to carry the message forward. Their bodies may be gone, but their soul lives on forever. Their knowledge, their truth, their healing, none of it disappeared with them. It just found new channels.

Five years later, I changed the name to Universal Love because at its core, that’s what this painting is about. Universal love and truth.

    Her Channelled Message

“Blessings to you, divine being. You have arrived. The gates have opened and we meet again as the wise ones. Time and trial has taken us, yet we do not falter. We stand before you as you rise again and again to answer the call of Universal Love and Universal Truth.

Love has awoken within you. Speak from your soul. Let the world hear your voice. Do not react but instead respond. There is no fight to be fought, as the fight has already been won within.

Be courageous, compassionate, and above all, be in integrity. No power is given to that which is not in resonance. The inner passion of your soul is guiding you to express your truth through divine love.

You are strength. You are commitment. You are brave.

We are here to support you and your family from the other side.”

    The Magazine Cover

In the spring of 2017, Universal Love was chosen for the cover of Mosaic Magazine, a mind-body-spirit-health-wisdom publication. Seeing her on that cover felt like a full-circle moment. A painting born from the silencing of healers, now sitting on the front of a magazine dedicated to the very thing those healers were trying to protect: holistic wellness, inner knowing, and the courage to live in alignment with your truth.

    The Triptych: When She Grew

In 2024, Universal Love found her permanent home at a healing centre called Water’s Edge Energy Centre in Blind Bay, British Columbia. The owner felt the painting needed to be larger in height so I added two more panels, one above and one below, each 48” x 24”. The original piece was 48” x 36” which made her 7 feet tall.

The seven butterflies arrived in the extension panels, ascending along a beam of light from the bottom extension and continuing upwards. The bodies of each butterfly were matched to the colour of the chakra system in order. The addition of these butterflies weren’t random. The owner had also commissioned me to create a large Business Soul Essence painting for the centre. What came through was a massive butterfly and later named this Practitioner Transformation. When I expanded Universal Love for the same space, the butterfly naturally carried through.

It felt like the two paintings were speaking to each other. Butterflies are transformation. They’re the part of the story where what was dissolved becomes what was always meant to be. (But that’s a story for another edition.)

“This is beyond majestic and angelic!! Spoke to my soul!!” — Michelle L., Owner of Water’s Edge Energy Centre.

3 AM: The Painting That Found a Stranger

Now I want to tell you a story that to this day remains one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever been part of, and I’ve had many.

It was November 6, 2018 when a man named Tony picked up his phone in the middle of the night. He wasn’t looking for art or healing…or was he subconsciously?

Tony is a Vietnam War veteran who lives in Indiana. He’d been through too many surgeries and cancer had come for what he called “a nasty visit.” At two or three in the morning, on a bad pain day, he picked up his phone, and somehow, one of my paintings was on his screen. Tony had never seen my artwork prior and neither of us knew each other.

I’ll let Tony tell you what happened next.

“This fabulous art of yours captured my soul. Two days ago I was in a moment of pain. Once I saw this, the pain was gone instantly. Now I don’t know why, but with the pain gone and the energies from this, it is an absolutely beautiful thing for me. I’m a 67-year-old Vietnam War veteran who has had too many surgeries in my lifetime, and then cancer has come for a nasty visit. I’ve been wanting peace in my life... and your artistic style has done that.”

I asked Tony to expand on how the experience unfolded.

“I normally don’t go on Facebook, but four days ago I was having a bad pain day. It was about 2 to 3 AM. I had not turned off my cell. Apparently when I picked it up, the art that you created was on my screen. What an experience. I felt this calming wash over me. Only once in my life did I ever have that feeling and it was when I was in Vietnam. That was over 50 years ago. While looking at your artwork, I had this feeling of warmth, like I was drawn into it.”

The animated painting Tony saw that night is called Stargate. Here is the link to the video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/10155548992036432

The original painting is 48" x 60", acrylic on canvas, and is a spiralling portal of deep blues and teals with a nautilus shell surrounded by the Stargate entrance itself. Stargates are believed to be real portals that connect different dimensions, times, and locations within our universe. So perhaps it's not so strange that this painting found its way through the ethers to a stranger's phone at three in the morning. Maybe that's exactly what a Stargate does.

Tony is now 74 years old, cancer free, and still checks in on me. He messaged me last week to say that the activation still helps him with chronic pain issues.

We bonded over the ethers through art.

Stargate 48” x 60”, Acrylic on Canvas $3,333. Contact me for more information.

    What Universal Love Taught Me

When I think about this painting and everything that has unfolded around her, I think about how none of it was planned. I didn’t set out to paint a memorial for silenced healers. I didn’t know she’d end up on a magazine cover or grow into a seven-foot triptych in a healing centre in British Columbia. And when the Stargate animation found its way to Tony’s phone at 3 AM and took his pain away, I certainly didn’t orchestrate that but maybe universal love did.

Maybe that’s the whole point. The frequency of love and truth doesn’t need your permission or your planning. It just moves through whatever channel is available, whether that’s a canvas, a screen, or the middle of the night when someone has given up on sleep.

That’s the thing about The Practitioners. They don’t wait for you to understand them. They just work. They find who needs them.

They’re not just art you hang on a wall. They’re art that works on you while you hang out near the wall, phone, magazine, or a Stargate.

    Coming Next...

Five Practitioners have stepped forward so far. The next one has been waiting patiently. Very patiently. You’ll understand why when you meet them.

Thank you for reading The Living Canvas. If this edition moved you, share it with someone who needs to hear that the healers never left.

    The Practitioner Who Roars

I promised you a Practitioner who roars, but first, I’d like to share a little something that needs to be spoken out loud.

I spent years in the spiritual community feeling like I was doing it wrong. Sitting in group healings that made my skin crawl. Nodding along to teachings that didn’t feel right in my body but seemed to land for everyone else. Following people who spoke with such certainty that I figured the problem must be me. If I couldn’t understand it, I wasn’t evolved enough. If it felt off, I needed to push through. If I questioned it, I was “resisting.”

Here’s what I know now. That icky feeling was my intuition and it was right every single time.

The spiritual community, like every other system, has its own matrix. Its own set of rules about what’s right and wrong, what enlightenment looks like, who’s further along the path, and who gets to stand at the front of the room and tell you how to get there. If you don’t conform, something must be wrong with you.

Sound familiar? It should. It’s the same structure as everything else we’ve been told not to break free from. It just comes wrapped in sage smoke and good vibes.

So here’s what I want to say to anyone who’s coming into their knowing right now, or who’s been on this path for a while and still feels that quiet twinge of “something’s not right here”, trust yourself.

Not the guru. Not the course. Not the person on stage who seems to have all the answers. Not the group that insists you participate in something that makes you uncomfortable and then tells you the discomfort is a “lesson.” Not every experience is a lesson. Sometimes it’s just your gut telling you to leave.

Your heart knows and your body knows. That feeling you get when something doesn’t sit right. It’s not resistance, it’s your innate intelligence.

I’ll give you a small example from my own life. Meditation. In the spiritual community, it was the thing. Sit in silence, quiet the mind and if the mental chatter won’t stop, try harder. Don’t get me wrong, it works for many people but not for me. For years I thought I was failing at it because traditional meditation never felt like home to me. Turns out, my meditation is creation. When I paint, when I’m in the flow of making something, that’s where I find the stillness.

Maybe yours is music, gardening, running, reading or cooking. There’s no one way and there never was.

I'll be honest with you, some days, I'm not entirely sure what I believe about all of this. I channel paintings. I receive messages. I watch synchronicities stack up in ways that are hard to explain. And then some mornings I wake up and think, really? But then I watch someone stand in front of one of these paintings and something moves through them. Tears, truth bumps or an emotion they weren't expecting and can't hide. You can't fake that moment and it's in those moments that I have to remind myself: something is happening here, even if I can't always explain it. I see both sides, I live in that space between knowing and questioning, and I've stopped trying to resolve it. I think that's actually where the good stuff lives. Right there in the tension between faith and doubt.

The moment someone tells you they have it all figured out, that’s your cue to walk or run the other way.

    NOW...THE PRACTITIONER THAT ROARS

    Meet Lion’s Gate.

Before you start looking for a lion, let me save you the search. This isn’t a painting of a big cat. This is a portal.

    Image description

    LION'S GATE • 60" x 48" • Acrylic, Silk Paint, Vinyl, Glass Beads • $4,444

The Lion’s Gate Portal activates every year on August 8 (8/8) when the Sun, the star Sirius, and the Earth align. It runs from around July 28 through August 12, peaking on that 8/8 date. It’s considered one of the most powerful astrological windows of the year for spiritual awakening, manifestation, and transformation. During this window, higher frequency energies from Sirius are beamed toward Earth, and the energy is a lot but in the best way.

This painting was channelled as one of The Practitioners, and when it speaks, it doesn’t whisper:

“I am your gateway to higher realms of consciousness. If you are seeking accelerated ascension amidst the already potent waves of change and transformation, I ask you to tune in to me and unlock the powers of your portal gateway within.”

The painting holds layers of sacred geometry. The Merkaba, that star shape at the centre, represents our light body. Within it sits a dreamcatcher that acts as a portal to other dimensions. And nested inside the dreamcatcher is the infinity symbol, which also mirrors the 8:8 of the Lion’s Gate opening itself.

The four symbols you see are the Universal Laws of Creation, brought down from the star nations. Clockwise from the top: the Universal Law of Symmetry, the Universal Law of Free Will, the Universal Law of Judgement, and the Universal Law of Light, Sound and Vibration.

Here’s where I want to practice what I just preached.

There are people right now saying that sacred geometry was designed to suppress human consciousness or that the infinity symbol is a loop which traps you from furthering yourself. I could tell you they’re wrong and I could tell you they’re right. But that would make me exactly the kind of person I just told you not to follow.

The truth is, I resonate with both sides. Some days the sacred geometry in any painting feels like pure activation. Other days I sit with the questions and I’ve made peace with that, because this is exactly the point: your response to this painting, to these symbols, to any of it, is yours. If you look at Lion’s Gate and feel expansion, trust that. If you feel resistance, trust that too. Both responses are information worth listening to. What I won’t do is stand here and tell you there’s only one right way to see it. My role is to paint what comes through me and let you meet it wherever you are.

That’s what makes The Practitioners different from a teaching. They’re not telling you what to think. They’re asking you to feel.

I animated Lion’s Gate after a sound session at Heart of Healing. During the session, I could see how the energy would move through the painting. I could feel the way it wanted to breathe and pulse. So I brought that to life. Not because anyone told me to. Not because it was the “right” next step in some business plan. Because my intuition said do this, and I listened without second-guessing.

Which brings us right back to where we started, doesn’t it?

The Language Your Body Already Speaks

People ask me which painting is my favourite. They are all my favourites but there is one I have a relationship with. His name is Chief Golden Age, and it’s serious.

He’s been with me for years. The one painting I’ve never been able to let go of energetically, the one I keep coming back to, the one that now watches me from across the room with those eyes like he knows something I haven’t figured out yet.

    Turns out, he did.

I need to tell you something I probably should have shared a long time ago. Chief Golden Age is, for lack of a better title, the CEO and Founder of The Practitioners. Every painting I’ve ever created as part of that collection has come through under his watch and yet I’ve never formally introduced him. He’s been the one running the show while I brought through messages for everyone else.

Consider this his long overdue debut.

Years ago, I met someone who was a keeper of the crystal skulls. If you’re not familiar with the prophecy, according to ancient legend, there are 13 life-sized crystal skulls, often linked to the Mayans or said to originate from Atlantis. The belief is that when all 13 are brought together, they will reveal the secrets of the universe: knowledge about ancient civilizations, humanity’s future, and extraordinary healing powers. The 13th skull is known as the “master”, the catalyst that activates the others.

I didn’t know any of this consciously when I started painting. But something activated in me after that meeting, perhaps a remembering from a previous lifetime or an energetic download from the skulls themselves. All I knew was: I had to paint this.

    Image description

What emerged over time was Chief Golden Age. There are 14 eyes in this painting. Twelve form a circle around the Chief, witnessing from every direction, representing the 12 crystal skulls. There is no angle from which you are not being seen. The Chief himself, that ancient, knowing face at the centre of their gaze, is the 13th skull. The master. The catalyst. He is emerging through a portal, and his arrival signals that we are entering the Golden Age. This is my story anyways.

And then there are his own two eyes. The 12 skulls may watch. But the Chief? He seesinto you and through you. Wherever you move in the room, his gaze follows. I found this out the hard way. You can’t get away with anything in his presence.

The golden triangles woven through the composition reference the pyramids, Aztec, Egyptian, the ancient structures that have always been connected to sacred knowledge and higher consciousness. The sacred geometry medallion at his temple holds the codes and the sweeping waves of colour and feathers radiating from his headdress. That's frequency made visible. His energy reaching outward in every direction, alive and in motion.

I didn’t plan any of this. It came through me, not from me. And when I finally learned about the crystal skull prophecy and realized what I’d painted, an ancient promise encoded in colour, geometry, and light, I understood why this painting has always felt different from the others.

He’s not just a painting. He’s an activation.

THE TEACHING: WHY COLOUR AND SACRED GEOMETRY HEAL

Here’s something most people don’t realize. Colour isn’t just visual, it’s vibrational. Every colour carries a specific frequency, and your body responds to it whether you’re conscious of it or not. That warmth you feel standing in sunlight isn’t just heat, it’s frequency. The calm that washes over you when you look at the ocean isn’t just a nice view, it’s the blue spectrum speaking directly to your nervous system.

Sacred geometry works the same way. The hexagon in a honeycomb. The spiral in a nautilus shell. The fractal patterns in a fern. These aren’t random shapes, they’re the architecture of creation itself. Your DNA is structured in sacred geometry. Your cells divide according to it. When you see these patterns, something ancient in you recognizes them and not intellectually, but cellularly.

My paintings use both of these elements of colour frequency and sacred geometry as healing technology. Not metaphorically. Literally. When you sit with one of The Practitioners, the colours interact with your energy field and the geometry begins to unlock codes that are already within you. It’s not that the painting gives you something you don’t have. It’s that it reminds you of everything you forgot.

No words necessary. No belief required. Your body already speaks this language. It’s been speaking it since before you were born.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: HEALING BEYOND THE CONVENTIONAL

I want to plant a seed here, and I’ll water it in future editions.

Much of what we experience as illness or imbalance in our bodies didn’t start as a physical problem. It started as energy. Stuck emotions, unprocessed experiences from this lifetime or others, patterns held so deeply in the body that they eventually manifest as symptoms.

The conventional approach treats the symptom. And sometimes that’s necessary and important and I’m not here to tell anyone to throw away their medicine. But I am here to say that there’s a deeper layer available. Healing that goes to the root. Healing through frequency, through colour, through the ancient technology of sacred geometry.

The Practitioners exist to support that kind of healing. Chief Golden Age exists to remind us that the knowledge has always been here encoded in crystal, in geometry, in colour, in the very structure of nature, waiting for us to remember.

    WHAT PEOPLE EXPERIENCE

“I have been blessed to have experienced many of Lisa Kubik’s creations, receiving the activations and light codes in each and in different ways. Her art is a living reflection of infinite energy that reaches into the soul and awakens a remembrance creating expansion that is felt far beyond linear comprehension.” — COLLEEN H.

    LISTEN TO THE PRACTITIONERS SPEAK

Here’s something I created that I haven’t shared widely. I used to animate my paintings and let the spirits within them deliver their messages directly. Yes, the paintings talk and they have lots to say!

If you’ve ever wondered what a multidimensional healing painting sounds like when it has something to tell you, now you know.

    PRINTS INCLUDING THE CHIEF HIMSELF

The original Chief Golden Age painting no longer lives with me. That’s a story for another day (and possibly another lifetime). But his energy can’t be destroyed, and he lives on through canvas prints, puzzles, clothing, and more. If you want those 14 eyes watching over your living room and trust me, they will, this is your chance.

    WHAT’S COMING NEXT

In the next edition, I’m going to tell you about the time I created quantum frequency wine charging cards. The tagline was: “Side effects may include a smoother finish, conscious conversations, laughter and feeling uplifted the next day. NOTE: Wine and wine glasses sold separately.”

I am not kidding and I’ll explain exactly how frequency works on wine and on everything else.

You’re going to want to be here for that one.

    IN CLOSING

Chief Golden Age has been watching over my work for years. He’s been the silent presence in the studio and the energy behind every Practitioner.

The CEO. The Founder. The one who started it all.

If you’ve made it this far, he sees you. And between you and me, I think he’s been waiting for you.

With love, light codes, and 14 eyes that see everything,

    Lisa Kubik Artist.

    A pub, a beekeeper, and a two-year painting walk into a newsletter...

    Hello Humans,

I’ve been quiet for a while. If you’ve been wondering where I disappeared to, honestly, so was I for a moment there.

A few years ago, I felt something shifting. My commission work, which had been the heartbeat of my creative life for years, started to slow, not because the magic was fading, but because something new was pulling at me. I couldn’t name it yet, but I could feel it. Something was on the horizon but I didn’t expect the future to arrive wearing a beekeeper’s suit.

    HOW THE BEES FOUND ME

    THE BEE STORY

Two years ago, I walked into a pub near my home and ran straight into someone I hadn’t seen in 18 years, Herman Van Reekum. I’d worked for Herman almost two decades ago as a graphic designer for his immigration company. We’d completely lost touch but a house-sitting gig brought him and his wife Shelley to my neighbourhood, and there they were, drinks in hand and smiles on their faces.

You know those moments where time collapses and you just know? That was this. The connection was immediate, electric, and deeply familiar. We became soul family on the spot.

Here’s where it gets interesting. Herman was in the early stages of launching a startup called Bee Cube® developing climate-controlled apiaries to help address Canada's honey bee crisis. He needed a graphic designer and I excitedly saw this as the new chapter presenting itself. The universe, as usual, had impeccable timing.

But it wasn’t just the design work that pulled me in. It was the bees themselves.

Early on in our conversations, I shared with Herman, the idea of a healing bee bed. The bee bed is a healing modality where you literally lie above a hive and absorb the vibration and frequency of the colony. If that sounds like something straight out of my painting practice, that’s because it is. Frequency. Vibration. Healing through resonance. The bees were already speaking my language!

And then, a new Practitioner (painting) was born.

    INTRODUCING: HIVE VIBE

    Image description

The moment Herman and I reconnected, the vision of this painting presented itself. It took two years to complete and I finished it just last week.

Hive Vibe is a golden spiral emerging from the honeycomb sacred geometry, surrounded by what I can only describe as the living frequency of the hive. If you look closely, you’ll see the hexagonal cells of the comb woven throughout, glistening with droplets of energy, or maybe that’s honey. Maybe it’s both. (The bees aren’t telling.)

This piece represents everything that’s been unfolding in my life: the merging of ancient healing wisdom with the natural intelligence of the hive, the spiral journey inward that always leads you somewhere unexpected, and the understanding that nature has been doing frequency healing long before any of us gave it a name.

The bees build in sacred geometry. They communicate through vibration. They operate as a unified consciousness. Sound familiar? It should, it’s everything The Practitioners have been teaching us.

Hive Vibe is 3’ by 3’ x 1.5”. Acrylic, glass paint, crystals and silk paint on canvas.

    FOR THOSE NEW HERE

    WHO ARE THE PRACTITIONERS?

If you’re just joining my world, here’s the short version: I create multidimensional quantum healing paintings. Yes, I know how that sounds. Stay with me.

These paintings, The Practitioners, are channeled works that function as living healing technology. They work through colour, sacred geometry, and frequency to support whoever engages with them. Each one carries its own codes, its own message, its own personality. They’re not just art you hang on a wall. They’re art that works on you while you hang out near the wall.

I’ve been creating them for years, and they’ve found their way into healing centres, private homes, and the hands of people going through profound transformation. I also have a number of original paintings ready to find their new homes! Which brings me to...

    WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

”The decision to have a soul painting done wasn’t taken lightly. I ended up finally deciding that my life needed to change, and I took the plunge and asked Lisa to do a soul painting for me... My life became fulfilled and peaceful. I got exactly what I didn’t know I needed. The painting itself is a treasure.”

    Laura T.

    NEW: PRINTS ARE HERE

    SAME FREQUENCY, MORE ACCESSIBLE

I know not everyone is ready to commission an original painting (they start at $2,400 and take 1–3 months of deeply channeled work, worth every penny, but I get it). So I’m thrilled to share that my art is now available as prints in a variety of mediums; canvas, acrylic, metal, wood and even murals. This company is Canadian owned out of Montreal called Pictorem.

Same frequency. Same sacred geometry. Same light codes. Just a more accessible entry point.

    WATCH: MY CREATIVE PROCESS

For those of you who want to go deeper, I have a 23-minute video on YouTube where I walk through my entire painting process. How bringing in the information works, what I see and feel as a piece unfolds, and why these paintings are so much more than pigment on canvas.

It’s probably the most honest I’ve ever been on camera. Fair warning: you might look at art differently afterward.
